 Performance Evaluation of Sustainable Concrete Incorporating Fly Ash, Glass Powder, and Recycled Concrete Aggregate

Abstract

The depletion of natural resources and the growing need for sustainable construction practices have intensified the demand for alternative concrete materials. This research investigates the potential of using fly ash and glass powder as partial replacements for cement, and recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) as partial replacements for natural coarse aggregates (NCA) in M25 grade concrete. The study is carried out in two stages. In Stage 1, cement is partially replaced by varying proportions of fly ash and glass powder, varying proportions. The mechanical properties evaluated include compressive strength, flexural strength, and split tensile strength. Durability is also assessed through acid attack tests. Results demonstrate that a combination of 10% fly ash and 15% glass powder provides optimal strength enhancement Keywords: Fly Ash, Compressive Strength, Flexural Strength, Durability
