Abstract

Abstract: Ultrasonic sensors (US) are widely used sensors forMeasuring objects distance in different applications such as parking sensors inautomobiles, Robotic navigation, measuring distance between two objects etc. Inour paper, we have tested and reported how the external factors Effects on theaccuracy of distance measurement system using ultrasonic sensors. The aim ofthe paper is to define a starting point for designing the technical set up ofthe obstacle detection for developing the navigation assistance system for the visuallyimpaired persons. The distance measured using this sensor is compared to theactual distance of the object from the sensor to the measured Distance Error(DE) under different experimental conditions.
